I think that the proposed participants would want to go where the action is, and that is here.
The immediate attraction for many would be the lack of capricious and heavy handed moderation as well as thread closures while the thread still has some legs. On the other hand, I think this forum should adopt the Beliefnet rules about no personal insults or ad hominem attacks. Those type of things as well as harder profanity and soft porn are best carried out in the Telestial forum. That would eliminate the disincentive for many to post here.
The problem with instilling those rules moksha is that we wouldn't be Mormondiscussions anymore.....we'd be Beliefnet Part 2. I stand by the right of all men and women on this board to call Mister Scratch a shuttlecock.
As to all the action being in the Terrestrial.....an influx of posters who are looking for a clean atmosphere could make the Celestial a hoppin joint.
And +1 for cinepro on the OP on this thread.

That is true, but I think our three mods all have the gift of discernment. I would feel real comfortable with Gaz or Asbestos being one of the moderators as well.

There are insults and then there are insults. Some are made with humor and respect and some are as mean as all get out. Personally, I find the unchecked mean and nasty ones diminishing this forum. This board with a healthy respect for free speech but a willingness to limit abuse would make for an attractive combination. If that were to be achieved, think how compelling that would make this forum the next time MAD goes on a tirade of oppression.

So do I.
Absolutely.
For the right of the entire world to do that, in fact.
As long as you stand by my right to call you a Popinjay ;)

Sorry. Nope. In a just world, under the New Order that I hope to see before I die, you will have the right to praise me and, otherwise, to remain silent.
