Would that tend to put a crimp in the style of many fundamentalists if they were unable to beat you over the head with their Bibles?

Certainly. And I think that's a good thing. I don't believe in Bible bashing either.

While the incident itself is absolutely deplorable (why am I trying so hard to be nice these days? What does it get me but banned from lds forums?), the newspaper report has "disgruntled old coot" written all over it. The jokes pretty much write themselves.

Yep.

So, do you think this old guy just wanted some clout with the church?

(I can't seem to help myself today).

I know, I know... but I keep thinking about what was going through this guy's head.

Was he afraid of looking down the barrel of another long church discussion?

Did he have his sights set on something else?

What was his aim?

Does he prefer the shotgun approach to home teaching?

And will this incident get him fired?

Does this give the church more ammunition for their persecution complex?

I mean... shoot! It's just so interesting!

He should have just told them point blank to leave his house.

I assumed that anyone the Home Teachers would target would be of high enough caliber to not browbeat anyone.

Too bad they received both barrels of his anger with such a pounding approach.
