Exmo Conference and A Possible MDB Meetup...

Post by _KimberlyAnn »

It's a little over a month away! This year's conference is in Salt Lake City from October 12th - 14th and will be held at the Embassy Suites downtown.

So, is anyone from this board planning on attending this year's Exmo Conference? Blixa and I will be there, as well as Chad (Swedeboy)Spjut.

If posters from the board aren't interested in going to the conference, it would still be nice to have an MDB get together one evening. I'll be in town Thursday through Sunday afternoon, and the only night I cannot meet is Saturday night, as there is a dinner for conference attendees that evening. It would be fun to meet my cyber acquaintances in real life!

If anyone is willing to help plan a little get together, that would be lovely! If I lived there in Salt Lake, I'd be planning one for sure.

Thanks,

KA

Hey KA, I've been thinking about going... can someone pm me with details as to what I need to know about the conference? A link? Anything?

Thanks.

Hey, Monkeys, here's a link with information: http://www.exmormonfoundation.org/

I'm not sure how interesting you'd find all the exmo mumbo-jumbo, really. I'm an exmo and I only find some of it interesting, lol! There's a lot of exmo "testimonies" as I call them, which are fairly irritating to me for some reason, but the social interaction is very nice. If one attended all the meetings, there would be very little time for mingling, though. Last year I went to all of them, but this year I plan on skipping out on a few. More time for fun. ;)

If I go, which would be quite momentous thing for me to do; it would just to meet personalities. I really, really want to meet Blixa, you, and a few others. I wonder who else is going?

Hopefully creepy man won't be there. *shudder*

Thanks for the link.

It was great for me last year because of meeting up with my former babysitter and also meeting lots of friends from the internet like KA. I only went to some of the lectures: like any conference its a mixed bag and rightly so, what interests me may not interest you, etc. I drove up to see my most sacred place (see blog entry on Happiest Day) with someone I met on RfM who didn't attend the conference, too. Unfortunately I was having problems with parents (it never ends) and thus missed the dinner extravaganza. I'll be there for sure this time.

I wish CK and Liz could go, too!

I'm already trying to figure out what to wear! I have lots of clothes; I went berserk shopping last fall. It was some kind of melt down, I think... But, still, I don't have a thing to wear this year, lol! I bought a new red dress for the dinner, but several friends are telling me to wear the infamous black dress again and make it an exmo tradition. (I got a couple of snarky emails about it from people (women), which surprised me because the dress really wasn't that big of a deal, so rubbing it in their faces by wearing it again is very, very tempting. Or wearing something even more revealing could be an option, but that's probably not a good idea. I doubt I could contain my breasts in anything lower cut than the dress I wore last year.)

It's funny how excited I get about going. Getting away from the husband and kids for a few days and doing something just for myself is so refreshing!

Still hoping someone volunteers to organize a MDB gathering,

KA

Hi KA,

I'm cooking up tentative plans for the 12th, pending response from some of my out-of-towner friends who will be coming in for the conference. How about I post details as soon as I've got them fully developed. There are already several MDB'ites on my list of invitees. My tentative plans are at the Foundry Grill (Sundance), but a larger party might necessitate a change of venue to something closer to SLC.

You got snarky emails from women about your dress?! Sheesh.
