There are no gays in Iran

Post by _SatanWasSetUp »

According to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is speaking at Columbia University, there are no gays in Iran:

When questioned about execution of homosexuals in Iran, Ahmadinejad said

"In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country. We don't have that like in your country. ... In Iran we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you that we have this."

THe LDS leadership needs to take note. The Iranians have eliminated homosexuality in their country. What are they doing right in Iran?

I think that whole Columbia University thing was brilliant. They invited Ahmedinejad to speak at Columbia University, and Conservatives all over the US screamed bloody murder about it, and derided that whole New York Liberal mindset, and then the Columbia University President, while introducing Ahmedinejad, raked him over the coals, and during questioning Ahmedinijad made a complete and total ass of himself. That whole homosexual thing is but one example of it.

I think now that Columbia University have him speak, and take questions, was the best thing to happen on this whole visit of his to NYC. It really gave the American public a chance to see Ahmedinijad's true colors. It was a great educational experience, and I applaud Columbia for having the guts to defy what some would have viewed as conventional wisdom and invite him to their campus. Truly brilliant, IMHO.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Saying you've eliminated homosexuality and actually eliminating it are two different things.

Did they do this by eliminating masturbation? That seems to be the key. ;)

Keep in mind that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a political figure as is President George W. Bush.

As a political figure, he should be expected to articulate for his country.

Remember the “weapons of destruction” George W. Bush was absolutely certain Iraq had? Don’t let your memory go short. Dick Cheney also along with all the Bush spokes-persons said that. We have proof they said. They were/are all political figures.

So when the president of Iran says anything, you should keep in mind that presidents, heads of state, heads of religious groups are unreliable in their pronouncements.

Their own agendas and pressures placed on them make them unreliable.

Pres MA, might not have had a good day at CU. But he made the 60 Minute interviewer look 'dumb'... The few moments spent on GWB's 'quote' was an embarrassment; both to Bush, 60 Mins & America...

I think definitions are imperitive in talking to MA. (About everything!) "Homosexual" to an Iranian may not be as it is to an American. IF, male embraces and affections are exchanged in public, as they are, they may not have the same private taboos as NA??? So, no problem... I think NA's are too quick to laugh at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He makes sense... from his perspective.

We undoubtedly can learn from his openess (as SB said) things that might be more to our advantage than to our amusement. I think his response to the nuclear questions are as credible, or more so than are the USA's position; being the biggest banker of WoMD ... Warm regards, Roger

JAK and Nehor:

Something tells me the original poster doesn't actually believe Ahmadinejad. This is one of those "look what this idiot said" threads.

Sethbag: I totally agree. Columbia University made the man look like a moron. For once I agreed with President Bush, who said that Ahmadinejad being allowed to speak there just goes to show how truly great our country is.

As we learn here domestic abuse is a myth in the U.S. so we must be doing something right: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/d ... o_longer_a
