Invasion of the Evangelicals

Post by _Runtu »

In case you've missed it, several Evangelicals from Concerned Christians have been posting heavily on the board that must not be named. It's livened the place up, I have to say. As expected, they're doing the usual attempt to prooftext Mormonism to death, which has the predictable result that the apologists are questioning the motives and honesty of the EVs. It's been particularly amusing to hear Pahoran waxing indignant about anti-Mormon purveyors of hate.

One wonders how long it will be before they retreat back to the CC board and declare that the Mormons are beyond help.

Yikes! Well I saw two snarky EV's squaring off against a small crowd of snarky local LDS kids on the U of U campus earlier this week. They were a-preachin' and the locals were a-counter-preachin'. The whole thing had quite the tempest in a tea pot feel to it.

Isn't that what LDS apologists do, too?

Well, sure, but the EVs have the truth on their side. ;)

No, really? ;)

I just think it's amusing to see people going back and forth flinging scripture at each other, with the conversation invariably veering off into accusations of dishonesty and evil intentions.

So Runtu,

Would you have been going back and forth when you were TBM?

Anyone who knew me as Johnny_cat back on FAIR would know that the answer to that is "no."

Indeed it will be a sad day in Hell the day the humans get rid of what they call religion. Delivers some of our best clientele.

The highlight for me was this comment (directed towards an EV) by Mighty Curelom:

Anyway, sorry for the interruption. Please continue debating the various red flags, contradictions, and absurdities of your opponent's holy book while ignoring the same in your own.

Brilliant.
