Hey all. Some of you may know me from MAD -- I have not been there long, but managed to sir things up occasionally. I am now on my third suspension. I am just wondering, do the MAD moderators admit to their obvious double standards. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is their prerogative, but I am wondering if they actually admit it or try to act as if they believe they are evenhanded.

For example, Selek said this to me on the day I was suspended:

"You'll have all eternity in hell to ponder the number of innocent windmills you accosted."

(Note that this is strange considering I have not "accosted" anyone and am simply an active member struggling with newly learned history. In fact, if you read the couple of posts that led to Selek's "final judgment" against me, you will be left wondering what his excitement was about. You can check it out on page 5 of the "Priesthood Manual 2008 Joseph Smith" thread at MAD, which is now 19 pages and still on the first page.
Selek was admonished by the mods, but not suspended even though it was his second offense that morning.

Later in the thread, I made a rather well deserved, I thought, sarcastic remark toward DCP related to an argument we were having on a Bishop's authority to speak to his ward members for "the Church" on local matters -- see page 12 of the same thread.

I was immediately suspended for two weeks. Obviously, Selek's comment about my eternal damnation was a far more personal and offensive sneer, so it seems the mods simply admit that they are not evenhanded. Which is fine. I just thought they might want to give the appearance of evenhandedness. (By the way, I have been suspended three times since joining the board a few months ago for comments entirely innocuous compared to those lodged against me.)

As I sidenote, I forgave Selek and invited him to make restitution through an apology, but he chose not to. Ah well. He seems to maintain his position that I am an "anti" posing as a struggling member, which is simply not the case, and I think my 300 posts at MAD make that quite clear. Regardless, it is a way for him to dismiss me and my arguments.

Welcome to Mormon Discussions. If you intend to post further on MAD it is best never to disagree with Dr. Peterson, nor take on those posters who are also moderators.

Unfortunately, I am far from an expert or even a good example of MAD etiquette and protocol.

Don't waste your time with Daniel Peterson when he posts on MAD. Put him on ignore if you have to. If a character named Bill Hamblin starts to post then ignore him too. Otherwise you will keep getting suspended. It's the law of the MAD board if you are a critic.

Yes the mods know they have a double standard but they don't care. It's more important to curry favor of Daniel Peterson and Bill Hamblin (when he posts). You can only guess why.

I was following that thread. You were not out of line at all, but the exalted DCP was starting to get frustrated with you, and when that happens the moderators will always jump in. Julian with all her drive by posts and screeching is another person to avoid. She will suspend at the drop of a hat, and she doesn’t care if it’s fair of not.

The TMBs like Selek and hammer have and will continue to get away with almost anything.

This is all very interesting. I honestly had no clue that these sort of "rules" existed. I would just go along with the discussion, stating my actual opinion (regardless of whether Selek or Pahoran believed I was being authentic), and when things would heat up, I would get a little heated up sometimes and bam! I was suspended. But my comments did not compare with those of the posters arguing with me.

I cannot help but believe that Pahoran and Juliann are very unhappy people. Their dispositions are so nasty and so consistently so that it betrays a discomfort or sort of insecurity about what they are saying. I truly have thought that their anger issues cannot be reserved for the MAD board and that other parts of their lives must be affected. Maybe not. I would say the same thing about those taking the other side in the same manner, but the critics over at MAD are fairly cordial, apparently understanding what it takes to be able to continue to post.

MAAD is just like gospel doctrine class, sacrament meeting, and penishood meeting. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

DCP is the fattest cat in the MAAD litter box. His mod squad is on the ready to quickly to protect him and cover the turds he craps out into the litter box.

Welcome MMS: I really liked your thoughts at the MA&D board. I was karl61 until I got the boot. You showed real patience with them. You will be amazed at the difference between here and MA&D. You will like this board.

Thank you FAIR/MAAD, DCP, et al Apologists over there. Keep up the great work in helping those with real questions about your so-called One And Only True Church(tm). You help to funnel them in our direction where they can get the real truth.

You are greatly appreciated! These people may have otherwise never stepped foot into what you perceive to be as "Anti" until they were kicked out by their own camps.

I predicted your demise there a couple of weeks ago in a thread here about you and JohnW/Runtu and your interaction. I am not smart at all about this or clairvoyant at all about any of this, I just know the ilks of the Wrong-Headed-Wench, Bishop Pete, Paharon, Selek, Hummer, and the mods. You have too much common sense for them. They have there sacred cows to protect.

I was also exactly where you are about a year ago. I actually did less than you did and got the boot last Nov 5 in what I think was the first real big purge of that board.

It has been only recently that I changed ISPs so it has only been the last about a month that I have been able to even view anything over there. I have not been missing anything that is worth while.

Hey MMS! Glad you finally found your way here.

I was there on your opening post where Selek and Pahoran were just brutal with you. You seemed to take it with great patience.

I have really enjoyed reading your posts. Many posters are just here to argue. I sense that you are more about finding truth than simply arguing and being right.

And, yes, they tout how unfair they are to critic posters. It's right there in the rules of the board section.
