Top Ten Reasons MDB is Better than MADB
10. MOD CONSISTENCY: Red ink is saved for true infractions of clearly-spelled-out rules.
9. SELF-POLICING: When truly rancorous LDS critics (and you know who you are...[and you probably love it!]) step badly out of line, they are generally called to task by their "teammates."
8. NON-INTERFERENCE: Mods don't tell me what I can and cannot say (over and above clearly-delineated rules).

THANK YOU, cksalmon!
Posts like this tell me that we must be doing something right.

"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Read: it doesn't happen often here.
9. SELF-POLICING: When truly rancorous LDS critics (and you know who you are...[and you probably love it!]) step badly out of line, they are generally called to task by their "teammates."
That's what I don't get about a lot of people over there, who stand by when horrible things are said. As I've said, Merc and PP may be profane jerks sometimes, but they're not usually hateful. And when they are hateful, they get called on it. Remember the thread about Wade being gay?

Do you get the idea sometimes that they're making it up as they go? The overriding rule over there is: Don't piss off TBMs the mods like.

That's how it should be.

Now, that's funny. How'd you know I was talking about those fellows?
I haven't had the pleasure of conversing with PP on Skype, but Mercury's bark seems to be worse than his bite.

Doesn't take a crystal ball. I like both Merc and PP, but I disagree with their style. We can disagree without being hurtful.

I've known Port a long time, so I'm kind of biased. Behind all the bluster is a nice guy. And all you have to do is take a look at Merc's adorable kid, and you can't hate him.

Especially my favorite rule: Rules are stupid.
Everyone already knows what's okay, there's no need for strict rules. The community already knows how to police itself.
I've always found that if strict rules are defined, people are just going to look for loopholes, and that's just annoying. It's better to keep everyone within the confines of their own conscience -- it works better anyway.
EDIT: Spelling corrections. My keyboard has been misbehaving lately.
