Where have I heard of a prophet who's done that before?

To be fair, he has done much worse than Joseph Smith since he was supposedly "immoral" with his sister and his daughter.

Of course, who knows what "immoral" means in the FLDS. Maybe he just hugged and kissed them or something. Since charity has clarified for us that hugging and kissing are sexual, I suppose Jeffs could be referring to that.

This man is evil and has been for years. His daughter could not have been more than 4 or 5 at the time. I"m not surprised by his followers though. How often have these signs of abuse surfaced in similiar situations, and yet the victims refuse to accept reality? It also puts the statements by the polygamous wives of the 1800's in Utah and Nauvoo under a similiar very bright shiny light.

Seriously, though, I'm pretty sure the FLDS Church considers almost any touching between unmarried people of the opposite sex sinful; how many "lost boys" were banished for giving their hat to a girl or something.

But I'm sure that he was referring to some kind of sexual assault.

One of his nephews sued Jeffs for molesting him while he was in elementary school. The nephew's brother was molested, too, and killed himself later, if memory serves. This new confession lends even more credibility to the allegation.

No, I'm sure he means more than "hugging and Kissing". This is serious stuff. It is also not uncommon among this group. They've blurred the lines of family so much that people are pretty much all interrelated. Also, the boys and girls are kept away from eachother--to keep romantic attachments from forming--except among their own siblings...who are often half-siblings or step-siblings, so you can see how these kind of boundaries can be crossed. Also, there are not enough wives to go around so many of the young men are not going to be able to marry to handle their sexual urges. Some deal with their urges by molesting siblings who they have access to.
