God's mysterious reappearing Phallus

I read about this years ago, but I've forgotten the reasons behind it. Does anyone remember? CK, Kevin?
In figure 7 of facsimile 2, Joseph gives this "explanation"
Fig. 7. Represents God sitting upon his throne, revealing through the heavens the grand Key-words of the Priesthood; as, also, the sign of the Holy Ghost unto Abraham, in the form of a dove.
In the old scriptures, this figure is missing the phallus. In the newer ones, it has been restored. What was the reasoning behind this?
A FACSIMILE FROM
THE BOOK OF ABRAHAM
No. 2

I am sure the reappearance of the ithyphallic appendage is a sort of ritual drama, symbolising the restoration of the Priesthood. We must rely on the Spirit to unfold these mysteries to us.

The spirit certainly seems to have "unfolded" something!

Certainly God has the largest penis in the universe and all others are only made in his image. Still, though, I don't think anyone wants to think about it. Away with the phallus! (holds White Out at the ready)

Who pulled it out (he he) of the scriptures? Was it Brigham Young. Perhaps he was uncomfortable with his manhood, couldn't handle Elohim having a bigger one than him.
Does anyone else find it strange that Elohim's junk hangs from his stomach?

It reminds me of that old Saturday Night Live skit where one of the characters has a really long "outie" belly button.

Thanks for the replies, but does anyone have any infor or links about this? I remember reading something about it years ago when I first heard of it. Now my sister is interested, and I was trying to explain. It is a minor change, but why would they take it out? and why would they subsequently restore it.

I wonder if you might find something of interest on Shirts's blog? He's
very interested in God's penis.
I'll see if I can track down a link.

Since this thread is (due to its title) presumably not being read by the pious who are likely to be severely distressed by reading the question [Charity?!? LOOK AWAY NOW] , I do not think I can offend anybody if I ask "is God, you know Jewish?" I mean, the Egyptians were "Jewish" in that sense, so far as I recall.
Can we tell from the restored image?

And...if the resurrection restores all body parts (you know, the guy who lost his leg in the war will get it back) will, um, that part be restored too?
