This has just been posted by Chaos at MAD:

that's right we found a new victim to add to the moderation team. We have made a couple changes in the team and Chronos accepted the offer to help us out. We hope this change improves the quality of the experience of our posters, so lets go easy on him and not scare him off on his first day.

Chaos

So they've made a couple of changes, eh? And added a new mod? Or perhaps just a new mod name to appease those who thought Momus was acting like an ass. Interesting developments.

Yup, looks like there's no Momus listed on the Mod page. Good to see - I think she really crossed the line between moderator and trouble maker.

Now we can all speculate as to Chronos' identity! (<--- sarcasm, folks) If we're lucky he/she will pull a Rhad/smac97 and put his/her "civilian" signature on a mod post.

I've never really cared about the "mods" (since they never really seemed to care about me), but since that changed, I have some questions:

- How many of the mods have been identified?
- Are all the mods TBM's, or are critics also asked to help out?
- Do the mods act as a group, or can one mod act alone in censuring a poster?

Mods can act alone; momus did.

A MAD mod who is a critic? Surely you jest.

HE/SHE just booted someone today on the Book of Mormon introduction thread.

someone posting today at MA&D

"QUOTE(Je Vois Tout @ Nov 8 2007, 09:51 AM)

As a native American, I find this change even more racially offensive.......it's the major reason why I have such a burning hatred of Mormonism. I look forward to the day when this cult theology is in the dust bin of history...."

MOMUS

"If you have that much hate you have no business here. Goodbye."

A bunch of them. Please cf. my blog for some of the guesses. We know for certain that one of them (likely Chaos and/or Orpheus) is Dan_G, and that another of them is juliann. We also know, due to his own boneheadedness, that Smac is a mod. I'm pretty sure that "Scotty Dog" Lloyd either is, or was, a mod. Other possible candidates include: Calmoriah, Scott Gordon, SlackTime, and Nighthawk.

The Mods are 100% TBM.

- Do the mods act as a group, or can one mod act alone in censuring a poster?

One mod can most definitely act along.

Liz used to be a MA&D mod, and while she is an active LDS member, I'm not sure she'd call herself a TBM.

The mods at MA&D are TBMs on steroids a.k.a. ZEALOTS!
