Sung to music by the Bee Gees, "I Started a Joke". Best sung with a falsetto (no pun intended.)
I started a cult, which started the whole world laughing,
but what the cult didn’t see, that it was false historeeee... Oh no-o-o
I started a joke, which started apologists.. lying,
Oh, If they’d only known, all the lies that were sown...Oh no-o-o
I, looked with my eyes,
Down in my hat, to start these lies,
And I wasn’t well read, searching my head,
for the tall tales that I said.
‘Til I finally died, which started my.. legend living,
Oh, if they’d only seen, that the joke was on DCPeeee…..Oh no-o-o
I looked with my eyes,
Down in my hat, to start these lies,
And I wasn’t well read, searching my head,
for the tall tales that I said.
‘Til I finally died, which started my.. legend living,
Oh, if they’d only seen, that the joke was on DCPeeee…..Oh no-o-o
Happy Holidays!!

I like it!
Of course, you should see some of the parodies that some of us have created about you types. There's some real (if wisely hidden) talent out there.

Weellllll!!
Professor P.! How I missed you so! You know, I've long been waiting for you to come take on some *real* competition over here, rather than endlessly tauting Yme. I will top a relevant thread, so we can discuss how well LDS scholars have presented their theories to mainstream academia.

Of course, you know what the Bible says about hidden talents.

......Sheesh Scratch. I brought DCP out of hibernation, apparently for your benefit. Can't you even thank me?
Maybe I'll have to write a parody about you.

Can you do one called "Apostates in Utah" to the sound of "Werewolves in London"?
On a sidenote: One song I think ripe for parody would be the "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle, but I just couldn't get it nailed down. I tried "Sound of Sermons" that starts:
"Hello Mormon, my old friend
I just reread your book again
I been doing a bit of thinking
Did you write it while drinking
But the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
During the sound of sermons."
But I couldn't finish :(. Now the funniest thought just struck me, and it involved the Elton John song "Daniel" and a certain professor.

No, no---Yong Xi, I'm terribly grateful. I cannot tell you how grateful, in fact. Let's hope The Good Professor sticks around....
