Ding! My jaw was dropping when I heard this on NPR. These guys are nothing. The Mormon Church? that's like taking down GM!

A SENATOR is doing this. This is the spark that will possibly start a rough stone rolling towards the COB.

My initial reaction is that this is not something congress should be investigating. If there is something that has prompted the senator to believe that there are IRS implications, then the investigation should be turned over to the IRS as the executive body to enforce the law; it does not fall under the purview of the legislative branch. Creeps me out a bit, truth be told.

I agree with this. Congress is way too susceptible to popular pressure. Letting them decide to investigate finances is dangerous.

I hope not. The Church has a good reason for keeping it's finances secret.
