More Evidence of DCP's Gossipmongering

On the now very long thread concerning Ray A's (potential) status as the "Gandhi" of Internet Mormonism, Prof. Peterson described dear Ray thusly:

DCP wrote:I have always regarded Ray as fiercely honest, too. Uncompromisingly so. I've not known him to lie. Never. He tells the truth as he sees it even if it is uncomfortable.

Boy, is that ever true! Sadly, this is going to come back to haunt The Good Professor, particularly in lieu of his many denials about engaging in rank gossip:

Ray A wrote:Dan never posted any emails I sent him, and I said I respect him for that. It was of little consequence to me that he offered them privately to anyone who wanted to read them. Even if he had posted them on Z, I would have reacted in the same way I did to Gad. Even Gad admitted that what he did was a "perhaps a little unethical", but as I said, I'm prepared to wear the consequences.
(emphasis added)

Wha...?? He was offering to pass around private messages so that he and his buddies could yuk it up at Ray's expense??? Pretty rotten, if you ask me.

Honesty compels me to weigh in on this issue: I was one of the people who asked DCP to send along the transcript (hee hee) of their e-mail conversations. DCP's intent was to show how Ray A's public characterization of their private correspondence was rather extreme compared to the reality (not to "yuk it up"--they both merely had different recollections as to the cordiality of their exchanges).

I read the exchanges. (Ray A, I hope you don't mind my saying this but) DCP was correct. Their correspondence was quite a bit tamer and much less vitriolic than Ray A had made it out to be.

Funny, I don't think it was "rotten", and I was the subject of the emails.

How come you don't think what Gad did was "rotten"?

Don't try to make me a victim, because I was not a victim, and if I wanted to complain about this - I would have done it five years ago.

Not to change the subject, but what did Gad do?

I offered them in order to clarify a situation that was in dispute. The phrase so that he and his buddies could yuk it up at Ray's expense is entirely your creation, and typically malicious.

Does anybody ever ask you? Is there any suspense whatever as to what your opinion of everything I do and say is going to be?

The pattern never varies. The leopard doesn't change its spots. Malevolent mendacity.

Zzzzzzzz.

I don't even possess this correspondence, and I didn't save any of it. I actually thought about emailing Dan at the time and asking him to send it, since I didn't save all of it, but I didn't think he'd appreciate that. LOL.

I've already stated where I stand on this. Gad only recounted what he remembered. I am quite okay with verifying he remembered correctly. But, it was private correspondence, which no other recipient has chosen to reveal. My bone here is not with Gad, but with Scratch's obsession. Why is it so evil, in his eyes, for DCP to reveal something, but quite okay for Gad to do so? Unless I missed his vehement protests about Gad releasing private information.

So you asked, and DCP didn't offer, as Ray stated above? (I will note, for the record, that you *did* want to read the materials in order to "yuk it up.")

DCP's intent was to show how Ray A's public characterization of their private correspondence was rather extreme compared to the reality (not to "yuk it up"--they both merely had different recollections as to the cordiality of their exchanges).

Interesting. So, it seems that Ray is shown in a less-than-favorable light yet again.

Yes, it sure does suck when someone assumes you're being dishonest, despite your protests. If a man keeps stepping on your neck for long enough, eventually you are going to quit asking him politely to remove it.

It seems that Scratch is obsessed with personalizing all disputes. He is simply fascinated with tearing people down. If a situation can't be used to personally discredit A, he instantly rebrands it in the hope of discrediting B.
