Congratulations to CHARITY for achieving Goddesshood!

Charity, an active member of both the LDS church and MormonDiscussions.com, has finally seen her devotion pay off, for on Friday, December 21, 2007 at exactly 10:20 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, she was crowned with her mantle of glory and exaltation, yea, even GODDESSHOOD!

Charity now joins the ranks of the upper-crust, that elite group of (now) 28 individuals who have thus been deified so far. Many people have criticized her for this or that over the years, both here, at MA&D, and previously at FAIR, but there's one thing about her which is UNDENIABLE: She's got GUTS. This board, censorship-averse that it is, is no haven for the timid of heart. The fact that she's willing to go head-to-head with this group demonstrates a commitment to and steadfastness of belief that Gordon B. Hinckley himself could only dream of.

So, three cheers for CHARITY! If anyone has anything nice to say about Charity (the person), now is the time and this is the place to say it.

Well, Charity? SPEECH! SPEECH!

If only it was this easy to get the real award. But then, maybe just enduring is what it is all about.

But thanks. Oh, hey. This new elevated status isn't going to change me one bit. I will still be the sweet, kind, gentle person you have all come to know and love. Or not.

I always had a feeling you would reach your exaltation before I could. If Mormonism is true, then you just may do so twice.

Now now, Mercury. Remember, I said "if anyone has anything nice to say about Charity (the person), . . ."

I'm mostly a lurker here, and on the couple of other LDS-related boards that I'm a member of. Most of the time I lurk because I feel that I have little to contribute, especially when I see how knowledgeable many members are.

But I would like to add my congrats to Charity.

I may not agree with much of what Charity posts, but I always find her posts to be thought-provoking.

Thanks, Charity, and keep on posting. I feel that we would be much the poorer without you here.

Congrats Charity. Your willingness to get right into the fray in order to defend what you believe is commendable, in my opinion. If I “knew” the Church to be true, I tend to think I would probably be a coward when it came to defending that “knowledge.”

Congratulations. I can remember your forum activity from several years ago on FAIR. I have said before that you are a brave soul to share in the discussions here. It would be great if more of the folk at MAD would find time to participate here as it adds to the variety. Variety is the spice of life, and you're part of it! :)

Wait! Is she a Goddess? Or a God?

I thought we were gender-neutral on this board.

Let me add my heartfelt congratulations to Charity on achieving this *ahem* goal, which was really a fait accompli once she started posting here. And props to her for sticking it out without being a *cough* troll or *cough* bomb thrower. She knows she has a forum of free speech here, whether or not she finds a lot of people either agreeing with her or applauding her.

So congratulations, Charity, on surviving mormondiscussions.com long enough to attain the level of a thousand posts, and managing to do it in the space of just ten weeks. That has to merit a gold star in itself.

Merry Christmas, Charity, and a Happy New Year to you and yours.

Now you need to go back to MAD and tell them that the Church's answer to Fox about whether Mormons believe they can become gods and goddesses is rubbish. The answer is YES, as you've just proven yourself.

Congrats for sticking it out here. It can't have been easy. ;-)
