Website Hosting ?

This is probably off-topic, but since my website will be about the Book of Mormon in mesoamerica, it's kind of on topic.

I already have my essays hosted at zarahelmacitylimits.com, but have always wanted to do my own website with the same essays, plus expanded into other items of interest. So I finally got around to creating a website with frontpage, but now have to decide how to host it. I know several of you have websites - how do you host them? Do you go with the freebies or pay? And if the freebies don't support frontpage, does that mean my website won't look right since it was created with frontpage?

Thanks!

Beastie,

unless you're completely broke, just pay. Go to godaddy.com and you can get a solid deal for starters, at like 4 bucks a month. you can register a domain name there too for like 7 bucks a year.

don't deal with free ones with ads and be wary of even cheaper deals or offers to use someone's home, hobby server for a cheaper price.

p.s. it has frontpage extensions so you can just log in through front page and load it up in minutes.

Another stupid question. TD told me to try and get a domain name that includes something about the topic. How about "BookofMormoninMesoamerica"? Or is that too long? Are words like "of" and "in" a problem?

I, personally, think that's a bit too long. I don't know what would be better, though. Really, though, you'll want to do something with key words (I have no clue what I'm talking about haha) that will bring up your page when people search Mormon and Mesoamerica -- I think? :)

Yeah, I was thinking it may be too long. But I don't know how search engines work. I don't even understand why the domain name has to have to key words in it, I figured they search the actual content.

It's a tad long, but it isn't as long as the one I found.

Wow, that IS a long, stupid domain name!!! ;)

Ok, I want mesoamerica somewhere in there, and I think Mormon has to be in there. Mesoamericanmormon. That doesn't make sense. BoMnMesoamerica (not sure I like the "vs") - but will people search for Book of Mormon? BookoMormonMeso?
