Yes, I know this is Off Topic. I have something that needs translating.

I’m sure there is someone, but just in case no one offers their services, I can give it a try (key word “try”). I’m not very good, and have to rely somewhat heavily upon my Hebrew/English dictionary (I wouldn’t be able to do anything, unless it's really simple, until I got home), but if no one else offers, I would be willing to provide you a sloppy, unscholarly translation.

Why not just translate it yourself? Study it out in your mind, and if it be correct, the Lord will cause your bosom to burn within you.

I second this approach. Good luck.

It's not scripture you ding dong.

Edited to add: I meant that in only a complimentary way.

I'll look at it, too, if you'd like.

My Hebrew is very faltering and I'm just as (or likely more) dependent upon my linguistic tools as Stu. (And I had several semesters in seminary. If you don't use it regularly [and I don't] it disappears fairly quickly from your mind.)

But, I do love a challenge.

If your Hebrew is anything like your Greek, I'm sure you could translate circles around me.

by the way Jersey Girl, I'm afraid that if it's modern Hebrew, I'm going to be even more worthless than I already am (something as simple as the differences in the dagesh forms of certain letters is enough to throw off my meager brain).

As long as you know enough to order a schmere on a bagel, you have the S'michah for translating. Oy!

What dictionaries/tools do you use?

I am curious as to what dictionaries and tools you guys use to do your translations? I've looked at some...what do you recommend?
