Is God A Misogynist?

The more I read of the Bible and study various strains of Christianity, the more I feel that God must be a raging misogynist. It's clearly evident that He doesn't think much of women.
The Old Testament is teeming with disdain for women. Several years ago, when I still believed God divinely inspired the writers of the Old Testament, I thought that if I were a young woman living in Old Testament times who's husband were unsatisfied with me and accused me of not being a virgin on my wedding night, that if for some reason my bed sheet were bloodless, I would kill myself before my father was forced to stone me to death. It seems like that would be a very traumatic thing for a father to do to his daughter.
Even in the New Testament, Paul, if one accepts his authority, orders that women should submit to their husbands and that women should have no religious authority over a man, which is generally interpreted to mean that women may not hold the priesthood, or be ordained ministers, and in several SBC congregations with which I'm familiar, that prohibition is extended to Sunday School classes, where no woman may teach a class containing men! At least the women aren't asked to cover their heads, though I'd rather keep my face covered than look at those disgusting power-swollen men running such congregations.
Mormon God had no problem with damning Emma if she refused to allow her husband to marry other women. Well, that's not surprising considering Mormon God lives in Mormon Heaven with an whole harem of wives...
How can anyone defend a God who has such little regard for half of His own human creation? What is so inherently wrong with females that God thinks so much less of them than He does men? What sort of God could be the author of such brutality specifically targeted at women? I can't understand it.

If it's any consolation, He doesn't seem to like men all that much, either.

No, probably not. But He likes you more than me!

Even my TBM daughter recognizes that. Sigh.

Read the Old Testament - and whenever it talks about God issuing orders like that, imagine that God to be the same Jesus that dined with the sinners, looked his nose up at those who were about to 'cast the first stone' at the 'adulterous women' and taught only peace and love.
...if you can manage it without your brain revolting on you, then you are still a believer ;)

God's pretense of unconditional love is a sham. God's good and that of his human scum are two distinct things. Hell is still trying to figure out what his motives are with this ridiculous farce.

They can't, or at least, I can't.
My thinking on the matter is that we are not getting the full picture. The Bible has been translated and re-translated. There were many pieces of the Bible that were not included in the King James Version that we have today. The Bible was compiled by MEN. Men decided what would be part of the Bible and what wouldn't.
During Jesus' ministry, women had a very active role in the Church. His apostles didn't like it. They wanted the patriarchy. They did not have the progressive view of women that Jesus had.
Is it any surprise that after he died that they wanted the patriarchy to remain?
As far as the D&C goes, I don't believe that God actually gave that revelation. I think that was Joseph trying to spin things to his best interest.
You are right, though. The God that is currently described is not a God that I can respect or worship. I just have faith and hope that there is a lot we don't know.

What pretense is that? According to Elder Nelson, God's love is not and never has been unconditional. Which church do you belong to?
And the Belial act is getting pretty damn old, Nehor. Just sayin'.
