You have two choices...Send a worthy male 19-25 year old Mormon on a mission or buy this car:
http://www.getauto.com/vehicledetail/adid-11120836/?source=gbase
The current price of a two year mission is 9600 dollars.
The cost of outfitting and occasional support of bicycles and other matters is also factored into the alternatives price. Other cars are as follows:
2004 Mazda Mazda3 s - $10,970
I would go for the Chrysler PT Cruiser 2006 my self for $10,995.
Over 45-55,000 people do this every two years, totaling over 480 million dollars given to the LDS church by parents, missionaries and members. There is always a "funding source" in the forms of these individuals.
I could have had more education but frankly its not about the money at this point. It was the prison with emotional bars I was incarcerated in for 2 years.

You do realize that the Church isn't making a fortune off this right? They actually do pay for them to go out........

No, they don't. Not how you make it out to be. A few, yes. A FEW.
Of those I knew on my mission they were either paying for it themselves, family was footing the bill or their ward was covering the check.

I think what he means is that the church isn't keeping the money the missionary's pay monthly for their keep. It's not like they keep a percentage. That which goes in, goes out for the missionary's keep.

Then Nehor missed the point of what I was trying to convey. I was either unclear or he missed the point.

Probably both.

On the contrary, this is primarily how the church builds it's revenue base.
I never baptised a convert without their commitment to pay tithing.
Prostlyting is paid for by members.
The Corporation of the President receives increased revenue.
Great business model (albeit in any other form it would be considered unethical).

It does? How do we know? Each missionary pays $400/mth. How is that money allocated? Where is that money allocated?

It maintains Mission Office, pays rent and utilities, and gives you money for food. It's designed to average the cost of living across all Missions (so the guy going to South America pays the same amount as the guy in Japan).
