Is their recovery possible?
I haven't seen anybody mentioning John Dehlin's last couple Podcasts.
He lays it all out, so plainly. His jabs are so real, I don't know how can any hard core
Apologetic can offer a real defense.
Apologetics deserve well, to be treated like this. The truth was heaping on them as load of crap, it was inevitable
they couldn't cope with it.
As this was not good enough, they came up with a brillant segment of their own "Horse","Elephant","Metal" and
"Barley" videos.
Talk about making fool out of yourself.
Man...I am glad that I am not in their shoes.
I'd rather pump gas in some remote Arizona town (for few bucks an hour) rather than sitting in a plush office in Provo
concocting some dumb videos.

PS: However, I genuinely feel deep empathy for John, he stuck his neck wide & open for the sake of reality;
These people cannot handle reality too well.

Anyone care to give the Cliffs Notes version of who this guy is and what's his story?

Fine, I'll comply. I was writing about John's last few candid podcasts,
titled "Why people leave and how we can help them". And "Other Mormon Heroes".
This time J.Dehlin did it. His Journey took him where he wanted to be.

If you care to listen both of these podcasts, as he says, you will be extremely angry at him or
you will confirm his courage, (you might choose to stay indifferent).
As he says Mormon Church should not carry the shame of it's past.
Because there is no shame in the history. The only shame is found in hiding.
While listening this guy, the tapestry of chronological events of his accounts of history are very sobering and educating.
He talks about courageous people who came forward at a great risk of being ostracised, shunned.
For example John talks about Juanita Brooks' being almost excommunicated, the woman wrote a
masterpiece about the harsh reality of a hard subject. What so immature is to me was, the efforts of
hiding the history of it. I am sorry but 127 people got killed hundredfifty years ago is alot easier to acknowledge
than 1.5 million of my ancestors being butchered. Either way it is much better than trivialize it, as our dear
Dr. Peterson coined the phrase in one of our discussions on MADD board "So called MMM Massacre".

I think John did create a great chasm among his faithful colleges. Was it worth it? Heck, yes. Somebody
had to do it, an insider, if you will, a faithful fellow like John.

I do admire his courage to sand up, not to be silent any longer.
I do agree with him, If I were an active LDS guy there would be no reason to feel shame and hide
the past.
