Blessings of paying tithes.

I think the blessing from paying tithes is a bit like me eating toast and beans. No matter how many peices of toast I have I never seem to get through all of the bean. If I have two slices I have the same amount of beans left as I would if I had three or four. I always eat them in the same way. I will take a bit of toast then cover it in beans and eat it. So all the toast is covered with beans eventually. But I always have lots of beans left. So when people pay tithes it doesn't matter because they will always have enough. Well that's what church claims.

To put it in my own terms - would this same analogy work for chips and salsa?
The problem is, is that, usually, i run out of salsa before i run out of chips. Which would seem to be the opposite of what you're saying.

Yes that would seem the opposite unless you were to say that you always have extra chips left over. Just like my left over beans, I could say I never seem to have enough toast. Then we could introduce the whole glass is half full or empty thing.

Well, I do agree that what the church says amounts to a load of beans.

Although I don't see the relationship with tithing, my dad would have made this kind of analogy with biscuits and gravy (American biscuits, not the sweet ones in the UK), or bread and mutton tallow.

Ew. If he had 20 of those buscuits, would he still have gravy left?
