There are times when the KJV just doesn't do justice to what's being said. One such instance is the admonition for a man to make sure his wife is properly "cared" for:

1 Cor 7:5 (KJV)
Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

The NLT renders it thusly:

So do not deprive each other of sexual relations. The only exception to this rule would be the agreement of both husband and wife to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time, so they can give themselves more completely to prayer. Afterward they should come together again so that Satan won't be able to tempt them because of their lack of self-control.

So married couples; biblical precedence that headaches are unacceptable unless you have both agreed to the "headache" beforehand, and are having an aching cranium for prayer purposes.

I would hate for any of you married folks out there to be tempted by Satan.

Honestly I would never figure out that "sex" was the theme in KJV paragraph.

I never knew it was about sexual relations within marriage either, until I ran into the passage in Ferguson's Backgrounds of Early Christianity referenced as such. Even after re-reading it, I couldn't really see it until I looked it up in a couple of other translations.

There are times when the KJV translators choose some fun words though (that are easy to figure out what they're talking about). One of my favorites is Deuteronomy 25:11-12

When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

What is amazing is they evidently had the need to make such a provision. I guess there was a time when secret-grabbing was rampant.

I think the question is whether she was trying to cop a feel or not. I've been in a few fights and while a well-timed blow there is helpful grabbing 'secrets' is pointless and if a man fighting me did so I'd suspect he had motives for fighting me.
