2 Nephi 19:1 Nevertheless, the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and afterwards did more grievously afflict by the way of the Red Sea beyond Jordan in Galilee of the nations.
Isaiah 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
Isaiah refers to the lands of Naphtali and Zebulun, which lie west and southwest of the Sea of Galilee, respectively. It's a natural assumption, then, that the sea spoken of, "beyond Jordan, in Galilee," is the Sea of Galilee. However the Book of Mormon has it as the Red Sea, which of course is nowhere near Galilee or the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali.
The only explanation of this I have found is a suggestion that the points east of Jordan referred to are along the "King's Highway," which leads to the Red Sea. I'll plead ignorance. I have no idea what to make of this. Seems like an obvious mistake to me.
