Glen Beck breaks down over Hinckley death

On is CNN show no less...
On three different occassions over a two minute send off, he broke down in tears as if he personally knew the man.
When he started into his blurb I thought he was referring to Jesus Christ or something. Because he said he was going to talk about a man who he only wish he could be like, and believed everyone should follow his example of perfect love, etc etc... I totally forgot about Hinckley's death, so it blew me away when he mentioned his name. It freaked me out though the way he was crying about it.

Beck's apparently having a tough year, by his own admission, and he and his family are working through some things. I know he credits converting to Mormonism with saving his life and is quite emotional about it.

Why would this freak you out?
Because I looked around and soon realized I wasn't sitting in fast and testimony meeting. That's usually when I see men crying.

Beck's apparently having a tough year, by his own admission, and he and his family are working through some things. I know he credits converting to Mormonism with saving his life and is quite emotional about it.
What does that have to do with getting all emotional over the death of a man who lived 20 years longer than the average person? A man he never knew personally. It just struck me as a cheap way of exploiting his death for some kind of prime time advertisement for the Church and perhaps some back door endorsement for Romney. God knows he'll need it tomorrow.

So you think Beck was only emotional, and crying, because of his testimony? Not because he really knew the man, really loved him, and really thought he was an exceptional human being?

Not justifying. I was myself uncomfortable watching it and thought it was highly inappropriate. I wonder how much longer CNN will subsidize that.

It isn't the breaking down so much; it's that he manages to work Mormonism into virtually every show and soft pitch for it.
Do you watch his show down there?

No, I don't, but I do read Beck's website.
If Bob McCue had a similar show, and harped on the exmo phenomenon.........???????????
