The Inevitable Farewell

Post by _DonBradley »

Those of you who have known me online for a while know that my pattern of participation on message boards is like a bad relationship in an old country song: when I return, I'm bound to leave again....

Message-board participation is one of those things I just can't seem to keep in balance in my life, or do in moderation. If I could bring myself to post sparingly, or only in times of winter, cold, or a famine of other things to do, I would. I just can't seem to manage it. So I always have to leave, and now is no different. I'm 'investing' waaay to much time here. So...

I'm leaving.

I don't make this announcement because I think you'll care that I'm leaving (though some of my friends here will), but because I care about actually following through on my decision, and making a public announcement is a good way to pressure myself to stick to it.

After tonight, I'll be leaving all threads except the one on a nonsupernatural God, which I want to continue with till it runs its course. And I may pop in to the chatter box (chat room) once in a while.

Oh, and...those of you here in my area who get to lunch now and again (you know who you are), please be sure to invite me!

Keep in touch, Don. We definitely need to have lunch again sometime.

See you tomorrow!

I think that he will be back. It is difficult to go cold turkey. And besides, the online community of unique personalities is hard to ignore once experienced. In some strange way, the online community such as on this board are like an online family where people can communicate and express themselves in ways that just may be difficult to do face to face.

And so, I will say good bye to you, Don, knowing that you will return again when the itch returns. :=)
