I have been logged in at MA&D 24/7 for months. The last time I had to log back on was when we had a power outage and my computer went off line for 6 hours.

However, when I log in here, I can count on coming back to the computer after an hour or so of being away, and I have been logged off without my permission. Then I have to log in again.

Could that be a way to boost hits for advertising purposes?

It is annoying.

It is annoying.

This happened to me frequently last year (I asked about it, too, but I didn't get much in the way of help). I couldn't figure out how to resolve the problem (made me regret such a long screen name, that's for sure). It finally went away when I switched over to my new MacBook. Definitely annoying.

That happens to me occasionally. There never seems to be a reason for it, though. Kinda random.

No, it isn't to increase hits. Those happen anyway whether you're logged in or not.

If you check the little box that says "remember me" or some such verbiage and your browser is set to allow cookies until they expire, you shouldn't have any problems.

I only have to log in once every couple of weeks or more.

2 things can be causing this...

1) Cookie cache timeout
2) Session Timeout

Its built into the software but can be configured.

Why would you make use of logical thinking, as you have claimed the superiority of faith based conclusions?

It’s God’s will, Charity that you be not logged on. If God wanted you to remain logged on, you would be logged on.

Your shot at “advertising purposes” also requires evidence. However, I recognize that you are not in a position to access such evidence – nor am I.

But your leap to speculation is suspect.

I strongly suspect that most here do not like my observations. I have never needed to re-log on if I do not log off. Only if I use another computer from another location do I need to log on.

I cannot speak for “MA&D” since I have never been there.

Just keep logging in and see if that does not work. Sometimes these problems disappear. Internet connections and this whole new form of instant access to information (or absurd stupidity) is quite new (relatively speaking).

It’s a false self-deception. You are able to log on because of applied science.

Faith is irrelevant.

I log on because of applied science. And if neither you nor I can log on, it’s because of a problem in the complex system between you and the server or me and the server.
