When do the GA's find out it's a fraud?

IF the GA's are privy to the fraud that is Mormonism, when do you suppose they are told?
Do you think that every member of the 70 knows it is a fraud as well? Where does the pool of the 70 come from? Stake Presidents? Do THEY know it's a fraud?
If not, how would the current GA's go about selecting a member to bring into the 12 that they knew could keep the secret?
Do you think that there are binding death contracts out on the families of the GA's if they reveal the truth? That once you are brought up into the upper echelon, the consequences for revealing are very dire?

i don't think they are ever told. There is no utility in finding this out. Its not a part of the LDS elites culture to do so.
They are as much of a sucker as the rest of the members.
This being said, when Jesus does not appear to them in the holy of holies they might understand but like EVERYTHING in Mormonism they swallow it and chalk it up to things that will come later.

I'm not so sure of this.
The inherent risk if an apostle lost his testimony is too great. They have too much power, and could do some real damage. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't safeguards in place to ensure they stay in line.

Its not just a Mormon thing. When was the last time that a powerful insider from any religion stepped down. Surely the Pope can't believe all the stuff he says, right? Donald Rumsfeld and George Bush don't really believe the stuff they are putting out, do they?
It is simply human nature to accept your own foundational myth. Very few every question those things.

This is such a funny idea, Scottie. Tell me, do anti-Mormons find this idea extremely titilating?

I don't think they're "told" anything. If they figure it out, they figure it out some day between the day they take out their own endowments, and death, but once in, they're entrenched.
(And no, Charity, this notion isn't "titillating" to exmos. Do all Mormons like poached eggs?)

I don't think they care: they are movie stars in Mormon land and will be until the day they die.
p.s. does anyone know if they have a shooting range underneath the Church Office Building where GA's can let off a little steam.

For the true believers, i'm not sure they ever figure it out. Maybe those who've had their CAEMS, and figured out that Jesus didn't actually visit them. Or maybe the prophet, when he figures out that god doesn't actually visit him. But then, i believe hinckley said that he doesn't really talk to god, god talks to him through 'the still small voice'. so who knows.

I take it you like conspiracy theories. Here's why I don't think even you should buy it. Even today general authorities have apostasized--70s anyhow. George P. Lee comes to mind. The church continues to move forward despite these apostates.
Also, even under death threats, people can and do tell secrets. If someone wanted to spill the beans and keep their families, I think it could be done. Furthermore dire consequences to a GA's families would come back to bite the conspirators by casting doubt on the organization as well as further increasing the chances that they would be exposed, and face dire consequences themselves.
