Jon Stewart dissects Romney's exit speech

Post by _Boaz & Lidia »

Oh man, I thought Bill Maher was funny on Larry King!

I have been puzzled by this statement from Mitt during his exit speech:
"I disagree with Senator McCain on a number of issues, as you know. But I agree with him on doing whatever it takes to be successful in Iraq, on finding and executing Osama bin Laden, and on eliminating Al Qaeda and terror. If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

The main point that Jon finds is Mitt's pronouncement that a vote for a Democrat is aiding to the surrender to terrorists.

Jon's off the cuff response to Mitt's accusation was superb.

There was too much hot air in the balloon of Romney's speech anyway. Stewart has just the right way of deflating it.

Sounds pretty URGENT. Will any of the Romney boys be signing up to fight and possibly die over in Iraq? I don't think so, I guess its not that urgent.

What an arrogant jerk he is!

Didn't you hear him during the campaign? His sons were doing their part to serve the country by working to get him elected.

That was hilarious.

I concur. Brilliant.
