Wish we had the real Book of Lehi right about now. It contained that information from what I heard from one source, which now I can no longer seem to locate. It mentioned spies, other inhabitants and the fact that they needed to move northward to avoid those who were already there. Unfortunately, as I said I can no longer locate that information. Bummer...
My first thought was, "my, how very convenient." However, maybe MormonMason really is remembering something. What say you, archive-diggers? Ever seen anything remotely answering to this description of the Book of Lehi?
I saw that post. I don't recall ever hearing about any specifics about the Book of Lehi - just the general description of it being an account of their travels, etc.
MormonMason seems to have some specific information in mind (spies, relocations, etc.). I'd be most interested in his source for this.
by the way - all this talk about the "others" on MADB makes me think an episode of Lost is about to break out over there. At least that would be interesting!
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Indeed. I'm thinking about sleeping until Thursday.

I don't know of any apolotgist or Book of Mormon scholar who has ever argued for anything specifically said in the Book of Lehi. Do you?
I've actually heard people on MADB suggest that the others are mentioned in the Book of Lehi, but that's as far as it went. Maybe it was MormonMason, but this isn't the first time I've heard that.

But it's a thing of beauty, isn't it? An apologist can point to the "empty chair", so to speak, and declare that the explanation for these very valid questions is found there. It's nearly as layering authors and editors and translators (i.e., the book of Ether) to explain away pesky anachronisms.
