Actually the red wine study published before has been criticized for selective bias in that their sampled population actually were from a more affluent group than their control population. Mechanism-wise, alcohol being beneficial to the human physiology is very weak, and compared to the damage it does, it's not worth it. You want a healthy lifestyle, go drink fruit juice and/or run. That will benefit you a lot more than drinking wine.. and cheaper too.
