What was left out of the WoW?

On the other board, I mentioned a few things that could drastically improve our lifestyle, especially those in 3rd world countries, but were left out of the WoW.
Some I thought of were:
Boil (or otherwise purify) your water before drinking it.
Protect yourselves from mosquitoes.
Wash your hands often, especially if you are sick.
Watch your salt intake.
Exercise on a regular basis.
Bathe often.
Brush and floss your teeth. (not sure if this was a known practice when the WoW was created)
Any more simple items that could have been added to dramatically improve the members lives in the 1800's?

I stay out of the sun because my skin is sensitive.
We spell fibre as fibre. Why have you spelled it "fiber"?

Avoid STD's by:
1) Limiting your amount of sexual partners.
2) Not committing adultery
Hmm.

Another of those differences for US English, like honor/honour and criticize/criticise. Many words ending in "-our," "-ise" and "-re" were changed.
I'm always aware of the differences because the spell checker on my Mac is set to UK spellings for some reason (and I've never bothered to track down how to change it), so it red-lines every time I type a word that's different in the UK. Perhaps I should just give in and pretend to be a Brit on-line. It might be fitting for an Anglophile like me anyway.

Speaking of which....
Just how are tobacco leaves used to treat bruises?
And just how are tobacco leaves used to treat sick cattle???
