Sorcerers

According to the Gospel Peinciples manual, the following people are going to the telestial kingdom.
These people did not receive the gospel or the testimony of Jesus either on earth or in the spirit world. They will suffer for their own sins in hell until after the Millennium, when they will be resurrected. “These are they who are liars, and sorcerers, and adulterers, and whoremongers, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.” These people are as numerous as the stars in heaven and the sand on the seashore. They will be visited by the Holy Ghost but not by the Father or the Son.
It is interesting that sorcerers are going to the TK but murderers, rapists, car thieves, child molesters, lawyers, and other really bad people are not. Maybe they're going to outer darkness. So what exactly is a sorcerer? Is it like Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone? Do Sorcerers work with magic stones? Here is a picture I found on the internet of a Sorcerer.

Actually,
Raistlin Majere was a
magic-user (or
wizard, depending on which edition ofA D&D you are talking about). Wizards work magic through the power of their intelligence while
sorcerers rely on their high charisma and powerful personalities to work magic.
Incidentally, the character Raislin was created in part by Tracy Hickman, an LDS author and game designer.

I guess seers don't count as sorcerers. Looks like divining rods are in too. I keep forgetting what else the early saints had, but I find it rather strange that those things don't count as evil.

A whoremonger would be some who traffics in and profits from prostitution. Much like a fishmonger traffics in and profits from fish.

I was gonna say that looked like Raistlin, but I couldn't tell if the eyes were hourglass or not, and that doesn't exactly look like the Staff of Magius. But it could just be another artists rendering. Yes, I am a sci-fi fantasy nerd, but the Dragonlance books were great.

Ooo, see -- no need for google -- or a brain.
Ask and I shall receive definitions.
Whoremonger just sounds like some nutty religious term to me!
