LDS missionaries attending other churches

Did any of you when you were missionaries ever regularly attend other churches on nights other than Sunday during the day? The reason I ask is that back in like 2002, missionaries that I got to know were regularly attending a Pentecostal Assemblies of the World church which has practically 100% African American membership. I learned a few days ago from one of the PAW church members that the LDS missionaries are still attending regularly and have been for several years now. I did get sort of tickled though as this member assumed these were the same LDS missionaries that had been coming all along.

My companion, roommates, and I were pretty regular attendees at a non-denominational charismatic church back in '01. Threshing Floor Ministries, in Fallon, NV, if any of you know of it.

May I ask what your reason(s) were for attending?

The pastors of that church were a married couple, and we tracted into their 15 year old (gorgeous) daughter one day on the street. We set up an appointment, met with her and her folks, and became really good friends with the whole family. I can't remember if they invited us to attend or if we invited ourselves, but we attended basically because we enjoyed spending time with them and got a kick out of the contemporary praise music they played. Good times.

When I was on my mission in France in the late seventies, we were forbidden to attend other churches.

Yeah, the missionaries I knew that went to the PAW church years ago enjoyed the music too. Basically the same contemporary music, but only with drums and tambourines. The ladies would pull them out of their purses. I still at times think I may send the RM a tambourine of his own.

On my Mission I went to several other churchs. It was a tradition for many of us to go to Midnight Mass. I went to the Pentecostal, Anglican, and a few others too. Kingdom Hall didn't want us. Went to the then RLDS church a few times. Never proselyted there unless talking to the priest/pastor afterwards counts.

It is nothing more than a poorly placed infomercial for LDS Inc.
Can you imagine if any other non Mormon members/missionaries showed up to LDS services on a regular basis, wearing name tags that made it obvious which faith they were representing and brandishing their own propaganda?
They are never there to show respect, otherwise they would have left their monkey Mormon suits and name tags at home.
Most of the time, their attendance in non Mormon services is part of their ego and given to them as a dare by other elders or a challenge from the Regional Sales Manager, err I mean Mission Prez.
Holier than them, they are taught that they are there to shine the flashlight of the only true church into their dimmly light cavernous chapels.

I attended other churches on occaision. Various Catholic, Protestant, and even a Buddhist temple. I thought it good to remove my name tag out of respect when doing so though I did not hesitate to answer who I was.
