Dating and alone time for single LDS--problematic?

I remember back before I married my wife. I was always worried about being alone with her because I was told that's when couples transgress. I was fine being with her outside as long as was where people were likely to come by from time to time.
Does this concern to never be alone hamper the dating process and if so how? What say ye?

Does anyone actually follow that advice after you get serious????
Yes, most definitely that would cause problems. How in the world would you know if you are comfortable alone together?

By being semi-alone. We were alone enough. Cars drove by and maybe a person here or there, but we were more or less alone.
Actually, we spent some alone time in computer labs. Then again, they have security cameras there.

Still.....I would think you would need a substantial amount of alone time to really get comfortable with someone.

Asbestos, is that not best taken as dating advice for teens - at least to lessen the chance of teen pregnancy. I imagine it could hamper communications that are vital before marriage though. This seems like way too intrusive of advice for adults.

I never missed an opportunity for nookie. Even created a few. However, I never transgressed (except mentally).
