(For those who believe the world is six or seven thousand years old )
A Super Nova went off a long time ago - in fact before the earth was formed and the light just reached us Wednesday.
WOW!

Well, maybe the jury is still out on how old the earth is. Maybe it is 6 thousand years old, or maybe years means periods of time. Or maybe these supposed "scientific experts" don't know everything and we should trust the prophets. Or maybe we should believe the scientists and say that it is only the prophets opinion that the earth is 6000 years old and nothing in the real dotrine cotradicts science. Or maybe we should shift our paradigm. There has to be some way to reconcile these kinds of discoveries with a belief in the Bible and Joseph Smith. One thing we know for sure, we have to first start with the fact that the church is true then figure out how these types of scientific discoveries fit into that fact.

Doesn't speak to the age of the earth, just the age of the universe. But if you said the earth was approximately 4.5 billion years old, I'd say "Amen!".

Super Nova was a car I had in high school. I was a classic, but I doubt it went back much older than 1972.

This from the article:
"This is roughly halfway to the edge of the universe," Burrows said.
What is the edge of the universe?

What is the edge of the universe?
What they mean is halfway back in time. All the way means you reach the point at which the light traveling has taken the entire age of the universe to get to us.
