I noticed at MAD that Dr. Peterson is the new President-elect of the Mormon Philosophy and Theology Society. Their Annual Meeting will be held March 27-29 at The University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

His winning slogan was "I eat donuts and that's good works, so therefor I am saved". With a wry smile, he added, "I am" in order to illustrate the similarity to both ancient Aramaic grammar and phrases found in the Book of Mormon. It also made his slogan a chiasmus of sorts, guaranteeing his victory.

Maybe at the first meeting, they can open up their logic primers and figure out how God can be "the author of righteousness", always "prepare a way" for his children to obey all his instructions, but ALSO decide to put Eve in an inescapable bind, forcing her to disobey one of those instructions down in Jackson County - and then how it's just for God to punish her for something that HE forced her to do. Or else, their first pamphlet could be entitled "Learning How to Not Notice that Certain Mutually Exclusive Propositions are Mutually Exclusive Propositions".

New philosophical (if not psychiatric) ground will be broken, no doubt!
