I am sure our resident ex'dMo(Ray) has more information on this, but my good g** damn, this is unbelievable!

Read the second paragraph:
In what has been called the “sorry speech,” Mr. Rudd apologized to individuals affected by earlier governments’ policies that led to Aboriginal children being forcibly removed from their families. These policies were based partly on the belief that the children would be given better opportunities if raised in white families.
Dunno why LDS Inc thinks this is a good story to post.. just because one of those Aboriginal children who was taken from her parents 70 years ago and given to some white Aussies, happens to be a Mormon, AND said she forgave the bastards that did this to her?
So then, any one heard of the LDS Indian Placement program? Yeah the one headed up be LDS Inc just 20-40 years ago?
You know, the one where the LDS church forcibly removed native American Indian children from their families and gave them to white LDS families? These policies were based on the same belief as the Aussies, that the children would be given better opportunities if raised in white LDS families.
Hey Tommy Monson? When will you all follow the example and issue a public apology for breaking up American Indian families?

I wonder if the Church wants ten percent of the cut a Lamanite gets from their tribe from gaming.

The difference between the two stories is that the Mormons believed the lamanites would also become white and delightsome.
Barf.
I'd prefer a nice coppertone tan anyday.
hmm. Since I've rejected the church think I won't burn so easily - at least until after the judgement?

The LDS Church FORCIBLY removed native American children from their familiies? Forcibly? Wow. did the danites ride in?

I thought the program was voluntary. The children weren't necesssarily happy (at least the ones in my ward weren't),but their parents and the church sincerely believed they would benefit from the program.

The reason they were removed was based on a lie. I don't see the difference between breaking in and taking a child versus removing children based on false presumptions.

Do you by chance work for the National Enquirer?
I ask because I hear that the exmo poliburo is looking for a propaganda minister, and with the way you spun this story into a gratuitous smear peace, you seem to be well qualified. ;-)
Thanks, -Wade Englund-

What lie was that? That they'd meet and be accepted as equals by white member families? That they'd forge relationships that would give them help in a career? That they'd expand their world to encompass one outside their reservation?

The lie that the LDS church is a trustworthy institution. The big lie.
