I thank the FLDS every time I see this kind of hand wringing!
For good times, I have done the online chat with the missionary fools at Mormon.org and acted like an unwitting nevermo who keeps asking when they will get their children back and it too bad that their leader is in prison...
One Sister missionary told me that the FLDS BROKE OFF from the true LDS church.
I asked how was that? They are the ones still practicing the fundamental values. You, the SLC LDS are the ones who broke off....
Anywho, I'd like to dedicate this song to the PR department at the COB in SLC!
We thank the oh god for a FLDS prophet, to lead the public all a stray......

The LDS Church is in no way responsible for the goings on in the FLDS church, period.

Then who is?
Joseph Smith?
Brigham Young?
John Taylor?
Parley Pratt?
Wilford Woodruff?
The cold hard fact remains that the LDS leadership lied in 1890. Quinn uncovered that.
They did not snuff out polygamy as they promised.
The rapes of these little girls is on the hands of the LDS church.
Heres an idea, tell the Mormons to help the Texas CPS and take those polyg women and children in.
LDS Inc will spend BILLIONS on a cathedral of consumption(Mo'mall) while turning a blind eye to the raping of young girls, all started by your precious Brother Joseph.
Pathetic and sick.

Quinn is a lazy researcher (by definition). The Church still hoped for a Supreme Court ruling and everyone back then knew that it did not yet have the full support of the 12 as required by D&C 107.

How so?
Heres an idea, tell the Mormons to help the Texas CPS and take those polyg women and children in.
Since it's not our responsibility, why?

Pathetic and sick.
...the way your mind works yes.

The FLDS are a time capsule of Utah LDS from the 19th century. It was a bad idea then, and it's a bad idea now. I credit the LDS church for realizing what a mistake polygamy was.

You mean the guy who transcribed thousands of diaries, letters, minute books, and other manuscripts in various archives over more than two decades at a rate of up to 25 pages a day? Whose work is described by Walker, Whittaker, and Allen in their survey of Mormon historiography as "encyclopedic"? Whose six books span some 4,000 pages and whose
Origins of Power alone contains nearly 1,300 endnotes? Whose scholarship no less a figure than Richard Bushman has characterized as "assiduous"? Right.

My list is a little different:
- Joseph Smith
- Brigham Young
- John Taylor
- Wilford Woodruff
- Lorenzo Snow
- Joseph F. Smith
- Heber J. Grant
They have sown the seed of polygamy for every descendant church/sect/cult (There are hundreds, the FLDS is only one of them).
You know them. The first seven president of the LDS church who had multiple wives.
Anybody can make sure of this. The official page
"Presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" doesn't say a word about that they had any wife at all. It is a good evidence, isn't it? (From G.A. Smith to T.S. Monson one may know the wives, see "Significant Events" section).

Right. How else could he have come to the wrong conclusion in this case?

Whatever one thinks of Quinn he is not a lazy researcher. Another reason to classify you as a light weight wanna be apologist.

Something about "Am I my brother's keeper?" comes to mind.
