Today my father told me about someone who was trying to use a bishop to get bsck at his ex. Father told me that you don't use the church for revenge. Do people use the church for revenge? How do they generally do so?

I have heard of cases. Where one party goes in and basically lies to the bishop about the other partner. Or even worse, the Relief Society president. If you get on the Relief Society pres bad side, it's pretty much all over. You will be met with dagger stares by most of the women in the ward. [/stereotypes]

When I see missionaries I give them the names, addresses, and phone numbers of my enemies for referrals. That's how I use the church for revenge. Don't F*** with me.

Lying yes, but even telling the truth. "My ex doesn't wear her garments at night, or she rolls them up sometimes or when she wants to wear a special dress. She took the Lord's name in vain! I DEMAND you discipline her! It's a temple covenant after all! Shouldn't they all be taken seriously?!?!" She drinks Alcohol at night to help her sleep better and calls it medicinal purposes!" ETC.

If I were Bishop....My Response:
"I don't blame her. She is after all married to you and I think that because of this she deserves some latitude."

How much? Enough for adultery or only enough for taking God's name in vain?

Depends on the man in question.

By the way, I have heard rumors that some GA's use the church for revenge, but I have not seen that substantiated. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

That's probably how Hales got called to be an apostle for the remainder of his earthly life. He doesn't ever look too impressed about it.
