FLDS - 31 of 53 girls pregnant and/or with children

Thirty-one of fifty-three girls fourteen to seventeen years old are pregnant, have children or both.
We are talking RAPE of thirty-one girls in the FLDS community in Texas.
In addition, while there are 53 girls, there are only 15 boys between the ages of 14-17. Where are the boys? (The numbers were equal until age 14). Are the men transporting girls into the community for their services? Are boys being cast out?
I'm sick. And, I'm tired of people who excuse the men who raped girls. Whether Joseph Smith, BY, and their cohorts, or Warren Jeffs and his buddies, it is sickening.
There are no excuses.

I'm sure that some folks will still insist all these girls could have been impregnated by teenage boys. Unbelievable.
The sad thing is that these children have been so thoroughly indoctrinated that they will probably want to return to the lifestyle, anyway.

Oh no doubt!
This is just Satan persecuting God's TRUE church!! But he won't prevail.

TD,
I heard this report on my way home from work. What I want to know is where are the adult males located right now?

Do they know the actual age of the children/teeens from the ranch? Are there birth records? I haven't seen this mentioned in any of the news reports. Does anyone know how they are determining the age of the children and teens?

And even sadder is that, even if they all went through DNA testing to determine who the fathers are, they still wouldn't believe it. Obviously, DNA testing is no good. The Book of Mormon proves that.

Hey Jersey Girl...
I heard on the news that some of the girls "fessed up" and told their correct ages, and some lawyers came forth and told the court the correct ages of their clients.
Also reported, older women were claiming some of the babies and younger children were theirs when in fact the babies were the children of the underage girls. :-(
In terms of the older men... my guess: I'm thinking they left town and are probably going into hiding. I'm sure they realize that as information comes out they will be facing charges of rape. They have nothing to gain by coming forth, giving DNA samples and acknowledging which young girls they screwed.
Also, IF there are girls that were brought from another city to "marry" these older men then I heard there is a possibility that kidnapping charges with the intent to use women for sexual purposes (not sure of the correct verbiage) could be brought. I'm not a lawyer so am not sure about this but it does sound reasonable.
The whole thing sickens me.

I think you (plural) misunderstand my position, but it really doesn't matter at this point. What I cared about doesn't even matter when it becomes apparent that many of these children are in danger and they need safety even when they think they don't want it (although the rights of people and hence minors to put themselves in danger is a tricky question in and of itself but the end result is no for minors).

Which girls did Joseph Smith rape? Do we have evidence? I don't have to excuse that for which there is not evidence.

Elsewhere I had already read that such was the case. Amazingly enough, I'm not surprised. It's interesting, though, that I also read (If I recall correctly) that some men are sticking around and are providing DNA. So then maybe not every FLDS man is guilty.
Oh, and I still say it's sick and wrong for Texas to allow the legal statutory rape of 16 year old girls by old men if the parents approve of marriage for them.
Do you guys really think I'd exuse rape? Really? Come on. You're smarter than that. All of you.

The problem with the DNA is that won't it come back skewed? As in... I am my brother's uncle? Aren't the odds quite high that many of the unions are incestuous, since there is a strictly limited gene pool?

I don't think it'll be a problem. I could be wrong, but I think DNA testing could even tell who the father is among identical twin candidates.
