Can you control others if they can't control themselves?
Can an organization control you if you have no self-control?
If you wish to control someone else, is it most effective to make that person belive he / she is exercising self-control?

Well, I suppose so. You could strap them down....
Can an organization control you if you have no self-control?
I would think so, perhaps, through pressure exerted by the organizational community.

Yep, probably.
What is this about??
~edited 'cause my math was off~

It was inspired by some comments on Beastie's masturbation thread about control.

A distributed Denial Of Service attack by hitting as many sites as possible? It's so stupid it just might work.

Welllll, can you elaborate? I can only handle Coggins for so long and I'd rather not wade through that thread and his gibberish.

linky Also, the next couple posts.
That's what inspired this thread, but this thread should stand on its own. I'm basically giving critics a chance to talk about whether the LDS church is controlling the members and to what degree.

I'm not sure if I'm a critic or just bored....
???
Hmm.... well, I think the LDS Church does attempt to control members -- is this in dispute? I think it would come down to if it was harmful or not. I mean, controlling behavior that is harmful to others makes sense. Harm to self -- might wanna control that too! Harm to no one? Well, I suppose it could be done for spiritual, intellectual, artistic pursuits. I was reading the other day how sexual frustration actually can amp up creativity...
I don't know.
I think I'm just bored!

Yes, you can control others if they can't control themselves. That's one of the easier things to do. Because you can use their inability to control themselves against them.
