I suppose there are a lot of things people could bring to the movie which would assist a negative reaction to it. I suspect I might be able to do that. I appreciate Kishkumen's effort to create a review that is both thoughtful and avoids the automatic negatives that some might see. It sounds to be a better movie than I assumed it would be. Perhaps that is why despite reports in some quarters of it immediately crashing and burning upon release it has sort of trudged along with some limited success.

If you’ve taught the same class for multiple years, there is little work that has to be put in to creating new material.
Yes, the exact complaint Nibley made about the church in his Commencement speech "Leaders and Managers." Managers (like the church leadership) end up boring the absolute hell out of you with the same ole, same ole, while leaders take the bull by the horns, come up with new and exciting, intriguing, and wonderful ways to learning new ideas, mulling extra connections over, and increasing our capacities and IQ's. In short, Leaders are what we need and want, managers is all we have. Leaders help give us further light and knowledge that Father promised. Managers just want obedience to themselves and outdated ideas because they are lazy learners and don't wish to continue climbing the mountain of celestial knowledge, and continually improving life with exciting new discoveries. And they really fear criticism for their dopey, boring views, and hope no one will criticize their laziness even if the criticism is true.
But wait, don’t new students come in every quarter—students who are likely new to the material? Math doesn’t change very often.

Oh. Well. Good thing the Humanities are such a static discipline then. Carry on.

Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

Very well done, Dr. Shades! I think we agree about a lot of aspects of the film. Your review is much more detailed, and perhaps more factual in its focus. I think you did a thorough and fair job.

A terrific review, Reverend! I will not see the film for quite some time, but I'm quite sure that your assessment is spot-on.

Thank you, Doctor Scratch. Like many other people, I eagerly await your future comments on the Mopologetic aspects of the film. We will all benefit from your immense expertise as you examine the film from that angle.
