Dishonest Omission at PortoMission.com

Today I spoke with Mr. Joseph West about the portomission.com website. Mr. West was President of the Portugal Porto Mission in 1996-1999. There is a discrepancy on the list of mission presidents on his website with the name of his immediate successor being omitted. Compare
http://www.mission.net/portugal/porto/presidents.php with
http://www.portomission.com for yourself to see what I mean. See Mr. West's contact information at
http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domai ... id=godaddy or
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%2 ... 2C%20ID%22
I warned him that I'd be starting a thread here at MormonDiscussions.com to discuss this discrepancy. I told him that there are some people like me who feel that church history should just be told the way it is and not be whitewashed. That way the church could have more credibility in sharing its message with the world. In the meantime I don't think he's being as honest in his dealings with his fellowmen as he could be. I shared this story with my daughter and she was disturbed and responded that it makes her less inclined to ever get baptized in the church.
Will he repent? Or will he provide sufficient explanation to justify his omission? Or will he himself go down in history as being less honest than he could be?

There is nothing "dishonest" going on here at all. This is and always has been standard procedure:
Deut. 29
20 The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Rev. 3
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Having your name removed from “the books” is the price of rebellion against God.
Having your sins forever forgotten is the reward for obedience:
D&C 58
42 Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.
As far as Steve Sims is concerned, he never fulfilled his mission. He is therefore forgotten and his name is not listed among those who did their duty.
Simple as that.
.
.
.
Now stop your freaking whining. Man! I'm glad panty-waists like you leave the church. We're much better off without you.

Realising that a technical theological term used by some one of Mr Schryver's erudition can only be understood in context, I have searched LDS scriptures at
http://scriptures.LDS.org/ without being able to find any instance of the use of the term 'panty-waist'.
Now I know that Mr Schryver cannot intend it in its common or garden sense - which is I think a kind of child's undergarment. Someone as suffused by the spirit of Christ's gospel as he is would never use a term pertaining to children in an abusive sense, would he?
Or maybe this way of talking is some kind of efflorescence of the spirit of Christian love and charity for the straying sinner that is beyond a poor heathen like me.

So a mission president was left of a website?
SO WHAT?
And your seven year old daughter had rational response?
Seriously man, why do you even care?
As to Willy's comment, I am glad a**holes like you stay out of regular society and corralled in Mormon chapels with the rest of the sheeple.

First ..... I am a member of the church. In fact I'm a High Priest and have been so since my ordination at age 28. My children have chosen to not join the church because they are not convinced that its the most honest and true church on the earth today.
Second ..... I am not a panty-waist. I have no intention of coming out of the closet as being so because I'm very heterosexual. If any man ever tried to get me to french kiss him I'd freak out. According to
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pantywaist the term "panty-waist" means someone who is weak or effeminate. Just because I believe in honesty doesn't make me weak.
However you are entitled to your opinions. But you will not have any credibility if you choose to engage in name-calling and ad hominen attacks. by the way Mr. Sims went home honorably from his mission.

Its obvious in this circumstance that this omission was made specifically because that MP has been quite vocal with the Brethren on his concerns about the church.

Yet you are an active member? And your children at age eight chose not to join?
Who is this Mr. Sims?
by the way, Willy is the real panty waist(actually temple panty waist), for being afraid of the real world and living his life without being told what to do by LDS Inc.

Having your name removed from “the books” is the price of rebellion against God.
How come David Whitmer's name hasn't been removed from "the books"? Were Cowdery's and Harris' names removed from "the books" during their respective apostasies?

OK. Sorry for my post. Posting relevant information like that would have put perspective on your post.

I do not appreciate the negative usage of "panty". That's sexist.
Will is a garmie-waist. :P
