Banned in the Spirit of Scholarly Exchange?!

Post by _Brent Metcalfe »

Hi folks,

I hope it's just a server glitch, but I suspect not (see here).

My best,

It may be a server glitch. They won't let me on either and I can't think of anything I've said in the past day even though I logged on yesterday.

You're not listed as banned.

Not that I'd put it past them, but I doubt you're banned, Brent.

I vote server glitch, since both you and Abman are experiencing difficulty logging onto MADB.

Hi asbestosman,

I hope it is just a server glitch. My attempt to access the MAD board returned the following error:

Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board

I'll try again later.

Yes, that's exactly the same message I get. I think I'll just wait for a while too.

I find ABman's "banning" to be rather peculiar also. OTOH, I have noticed a gradual "liberalization" of ABman's views vis-a-vis the Church, and wonder if this had anything to do with it. (by the way, weren't you one of their "spam-buster" mods, ABman?)

As for Brent, it would not surprise me in the least if he is banned for the time being. I have no doubt whatsoever that they are utterly terrified over the impending publication of the book. My vote, Brent, is that you continue responding to Hauglid's and Will's comments via the Celestial Forum here at this messageboard. The MADites always read this board, and so you can rest assured that your observations would get passed along to Mr. Hauglid.

Neither are banned.

Neither is *listed* as being banned, but the basic effect is the same. Back in the day, when I had been labeled with the special appellation of "purgatory" I used to get the exact same message which Brent and ABman are currently getting. It may very well be that this all happened by accident, but I rather think not, particularly in the case of Brent.
