Does anyone understand how things work with the banning?

Over on MADB I almost got a good debate going in a thread on atheism and cosmology (I know a bit about both; especially the latter).
Thread title was "Thoughts On Articles On Atheism From Fair Topical Guide"
Dan Peterson didn't want to get into it even though it was about an article he wrote with Hamblin. I tried to be as inviting as possible and made a few attempts to get it going. I reviewed his article step by step.
He didn't want to discuss it but politely indicated some things were worth discussing (at another time?).
Well, OK then. I gave up with a rather cordial agreement to let Dan take it up later in whatever way he wanted.
I ended with

"OK, I hope you get around to expressing your ideas about some of the things I have put on the table.
Cheers"

That seemed rather friendly but it seems I am banned from responding to that specific thread/
This is a new one for me. What does it mean?

Dan assures me he doesn't want to be protected by the Mods. Are they doing it anyway?

Ironically, I was going to make one more post that merely supported something Dan was saying to Paul Ray.

I came *this close* to starting a thread this morning asking how long till either a) the thread was closed, or b) Tarski was banned.

I should have done it. I would have proven myself a prophet to you all.

I'm your huckleberry.

What was it you were trying to debate about anyway?

The existence of God?

Not really. Just whether or not his and Hamblins article had made any sense or accomplished anything (made any good points) with regard to atheism and cosmology. Read my run down of the article.

I can't believe anyone actually wonders why he/she is banned from MAD? This must have been a rhetorical question...

DCP is still posting.

The least they could do is notify people on the thread you've been prohibited from posting.

But no, of course DCP doesn't require special protection.

I don't get much out of his Meridian articles. Peterson and Hamblin seem to use that place as their personal blog.

For what it's worth, I don't see anything offensive posted by you on that thread. I don't see that you are banned either. Is there a message that comes up when you try to reply? Is the Add Reply button visible?

Yes, a message comes up if I try to post that says "Sorry, you have been banned from viewing and/or replying to this topic" (or something like that).
