Mr. Kerry's current video:
this one puzzled me as he goes into the word question. (I also wrote him a message to keep his eyes on the road)

It must be really boring in Idaho is this is all he can think to do with his time.
Like David Spade once said about his hometown, "Once you've masturbated the day is pretty much shot."

He's read a few thousand books?? Hmmm.
If he were 45 years old and had read say 3 thousand books then that would be about one and a half books per week since he was born.
If he ever went a week or two (say in his childhood) without reading an entire book then he would have had to make it up by reading more in other weeks.
He needs to slow down; there is a reading comprehension issue to be considered.
And what kind of books are these anyway? He still thinks that Mormony feelings in his bosom are reliable truth detectors. Geez, how about some circumspection!
Mr. Shirts,
For balance, may I suggest you read only few dozen books on epistemology and then a few on the psychology and neurology of religious/mystical experience?

when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

Kerry speed reads. Seriously.
He used to talk about thsi many years ago on the FAIR e-list.
It shows too, because he barely comprehends what he reads.

tumult, two questions.
1. Can you tell us more about the content of the video, such as what you mean by "the word question", so that we can discuss whatever points were raised?
2. Why did you choose to refer to Kerry as "Dr. Kerry" in your thread title? He is a doctor of no kind at all.

Uh. It looks to me as if Tarski is calculating the number of books he thinks one could read based on an age of 45 (which Kerry is not) starting in childhood (for what reason I have no clue) using 3,000 books as the basis (when he says Kerry said "a few thousand") and then goes on to give advice to someone (Kerry) who doesn't even post on this board.
Is that all Tarski can think to do with his time?
Geez.
Perhaps Idaho is boring, I wouldn't know. I don't see a reason to mock one who is using their time in producing videos and posting them on the internet any more than there is reason to mock posters who rack up tons of post counts on a board like this. As much as I disagree with Kerry's apologetics, I see no one on this thread addressing the actual content of this video.

Yes, he speed reads.
Is there something in the video that you can use to demonstrate that he "barely comprehends what he reads"?
I'll watch the video later this evening when I have time for it seems to me that people on this thread (and lately on this board as a whole) are more interested in mocking others than they are discussing content.
I'm double spacing again. No one knows why.

Watching Kerry on video entertain himself with straw men is just as unbearable as listening to his audio clips.
I know Kerry doesn't pay much attention to what he reads, due to my experience. When he did that podcast saying archeologists proved God has a penis, well, that was the last straw for me. Nibley became an apologetic God by trying to substitute quality with quantity, and Kerry is just one of many apologists following that example.

I'll try this again.

I'll come back to this later. I looked and the video is 10+ minutes long. I think I can manage 10 minutes of my time to view the damn thing and discuss the content. Apparently everyone else is simply interested in shoveling crap. I intend to make my contribution.
