The MADness continues. If you missed it in the Sethbag thread, Mike Reed has been banned as well, presumably for taking issue with the MAD mods' decision to ban Sethbag.
May 29, 2008 - a day that will live in infamy. Lower your flags to halfstaff.

I don't have much sympathy for Mike.
He basically left an F-YOU post for the Mods where he stated that he was never going to return.
I probably would have banned him too.

I didn't see it as an F-You post. It was more a very accurate description of the current moderation on the board. Apparently, it was a bit too close to home.
The banning, on the other hand, was an F-You to Mike.
But that's what floats their boats - the "power" they wield over the critics.

Yanno, I sort of get bored here 'cause there aren't that many believers. I wonder if they'll get bored with no critics?

I didn't say that I was never going to return. Rather I said, "I may come back later if the moderation lightens up... but for the moment, I think I could better spend my time elsewhere." How is that a F-You post?

I understand that I am a guest here. I've been participating on this forum long before it was ever handed over by FAIR. No need to give me a day. It is obvious that the moderators aren't interested in allowing a level playing field, and so I have made my decision. I am done. And I have no intent in coming back so long as the trigger-happy moderation stays the way it is.
I vote with my feet.
So long everyone! See you elsewhere in Cyberspace!
Well, we all know that the trigger happy moderation isn't going to change, so it was in essence a permanent departure. The bolded parts certainly sound final.
I'm still not sure what "I vote with my feet" means??

Oops. I quoted from the wrong thread that I saved in a word document. Excuse me. You are right. I gave the condition that I might return
if the Moderators changed... but like you said, they won't. And because of this, I knew my decision probably would be final. I didn't expect them to lock my account, and prevent me from coming back when (and if) I think conditions are better, however. Oh well...

In reading your post here, the thought came to me of when a poster named Nephi was demanding that his account be closed, (anyone remember that?) and the mod he was arguing with insisted they didn't "do" that. He was told to just stop posting. He was using profanity and being abusive in his attempts to get banned and yet, the mod refused to comply with his request. Yet, in this instance, just criticizing the moderation got you banned.
Paul Osborne quit over the moderation and I don't believe they banned him...but the board was run by FAIR then--different people in charge, I guess. He's never been back to MADB since, and I think it was a real loss.

I totally respect Paul O. They should make him the editor of the FARMS Review.
