Mocking God

How does one mock God?
Why would God feel insulted by our actions when we do not intend insult?
Why is it that some see gay marriage as mocking God? Does the same animosity exist for adultery or fornication (a couple of teens messing around)? How about for those who mock God by pretending to have His priesthood or authority? Is it a mockery of God to focus on work so much that one is a bachelor? Is it mocking God to get married but to choose to have no children?
What does it mean to mock God?

I don't mock God. I appreciate all God beings that are drawn to simple lost things. If I mocked God I'd probably die a horribly tragic death. God is good at 2 things (and I praise him for this!) retrieval of lost kitties and smiting those that mock He.

Well, in the temple we are told never to divulge what we have learned here today because God will not be mocked.
I never really understood how that was mocking God??

Well, I think the Bible makes it clear that God is an insecure narcissist. Like all narcissists, he wants people around him to adore him at all times, and if they don't, he treats them like the nonbeings they are.

My theory is that the temple ceremony is so weird that simply stating what it is constitutes "mocking".

Why does God get offended even if we do intend insult? If God is so mighty and powerful, why would he care what we think?

Or at least the men who wrote the Bible were insecure narcissists. Let us never forget that the Bible and all other scriptures were written by men, for men, and they always had an agenda. God never wrote a word.

those are some mighty odd things to think of as mocking god. No wonder so many here imagine god as silly thine skinned and vindictive.
I think the Bible is crystal clear. Mocking God is taking advantage of a neighbor and then wispering, you fool.
God as creator or both you and the person you harm does not view you as justified by you being smarter richer faster better looking or better born. When you justify yourself over somebody else by pointing to the things God has given you then God is mocked.

It could just be that I've got a twisted sense of humor, or maybe I'm just 12, but whenever I hear of "mocking" in this kind of context, I think of this:
