What if it were a one woman that had several men as husbands. Would it make a difference if they were merely "dynastic" spiritual marriages for the woman's after-life (to help build the up woman's kingdom, powers, glories and principalities etc.)?

Seriously though, how would I feel? It would be weird first. I think I could deal with it though. My perspective may be different in that I can envision the relationship some as I was invited into something like it once though I turned it down. It would depend on a few things and there could be little issues. I'd like to like the guy. In terms of 'private time' it's sex. It's nothing earth-shattering. I don't imagine it would be that different then marrying a licked cupcake. Assuming we all lived together I don't think I'd have a huge issue with raising Rick's child though to be honest I'd like one of my own at some point. Well, I don't think I'd mind her tellling him her innermost thoughts as long as she also felt comfortable sharing them with me. Finances...well, if we're a family we'd all have to discuss them. As long as they're not plotting to hide all the money from me that's expected. Beefs she has against me being confided to Rick would be an issue. I would hope that she would see that using Rick as a confidant to bash me (or using me to bash him) will cause problems. Even if she is just venting it will stir up tension between us. One of those things you'd have to talk about and make sure it doesn't get out of hand.

On the positive side, you only have to take your wife out on dates you don't like (I'm looking at you opera) half the time, can probably take every other weekend off and leave Rick to watch the kids. You also have more income, someone to play one-on-one with in the evening, half the time you need to do yardwork, have someone to spot you when weightlifting, and if she snores and/or kicks in bed you can sleep better on off days. So it's not all negative.

So, in answer, yes, if God commanded such a thing I think I could handle it. It would be hard but what marriage isn't hard? It would probably be harder but so is a man being married to two women."

I think a spiritual dynastic marriage would be odd to accept but I don't see any huge problems.

Actually, women are 100% free to marry several men as husbands and sleep with them sexually (not just 'spiritually' but in very 'deed', nudge nudge, wink wink). It is a part of Celestial Marriage and is part of our LDS cannon TODAY!

D&C 132: 41 clearly specifies that an ALREADY SEALED woman, if she is with another man (sexually) who she has not been SEALED TO, THEN she has committed adultery.
Therefore if she is sealed to BOTH men, she is NOT committing adultery.
Therefore she can, indeed, be sealed to more than one man for this is the Law of The Holy Priesthood, even The New And Everlasting Covenant.

Of course, D&C 132 was made up by Joseph Smith to justify the fact he was already sealed to about a dozen already married women...and 14 year old girls...and hiding many of these marriages (not all, to be sure) from Emma. This so-calledTM scripture was meant for Emma to finally 'like it or lump it' (ie. she will be Destroyed and she is the Transgressor if she doesn't submit to Joseph Smith's sexual predatory ways).

D&C 132:41 is his scriptural 'thus saith God Himself' backing for his sexual deviancy and cult-like marriage practices of having already married women sealed to him. NOTE: anyone notice you can 'map' the sexual practices of Joseph Smith and have them fit perfectly onto the sexual actions of other cult leaders who sleep with their right-hand mens' wives and daughters? - but of course THEY are evil and bad whilst Joseph Smith's actions are pure and holy and God-appointed.

I suspect that thing Emma is commanded to 'not partake of' was the same thing Joseph Smith was partaking of (ie. "hey Emma, since I'm sleeping around with already married women, you can too, go at it with Brother Parley and Brother Young if you so desire"...and just as she was thinking about it, "oh wait, God changed his mind, this is soooo NOT for you Emma, sorry about that"). It was good for Joseph Smith to sleep around and marry already married women...but not right for Emma to do (yes, that part is speculation). What is FACT however is that D&C 132:41 teaches us that a woman may indeed be sealed to more than one man and that, in mortality, in a non-spiritual way and indeed in a sexual way, get to know an additional man sexually IF she is ALSO sealed to that man).

Even my TBM wife, our missionaries and my Stake President agree this is what D&C 132:41 says. The scary thing is: TBM wifey is appalled and disgusted with the entire D&C 132 but God says He's ok with wife and husband swapping so what's she to do?...our missionaries are ok with it cuz they like the idea of sleeping with the hot already-married sisters of Zion (I kid you not)...and my Stake President, well, he feels perhaps Joseph Smith implemented Polygamy 'incorrectly' (I kid you not).
