False Intent and the application thereof in Religion

Is it easier to label someone had evil intent in religion? Is it easier to blame misfortune on unconnected events? Is it easier to justify mistreatment of others based on misrepresented intent?

Did the Mormons in Nauvoo view those who drove them out of their community as a satanically controlled effort to take down the church? Or did they view them as a populace sick and tired of the arrogance and criminal behaviors of the sect?

Do the terrorists who attacked the US on 9-11 view America as greedy, immoral civilization?

As an American, do you view America as such?

Oh, don't get me wrong...I'm as American as they get. I waste resources like nobody's business.

I'm reminded of the Tom and Jerry (I think) where they take an entire tree and saw it down to a single toothpick. That's me!
