If you haven't heard the wonderful rants of Pat Condell, you should really take a moment and watch this.

LOL. I love British accents. They make everything sound better. I love BRitish pronunciation of "status".

Ah! That was fun! I've been posting on CARM lately... I created a new account (third now!) and stay only in the secular forum (atheism, evolution/id, etc...) and I am very polite. I've been told I can't love, can't care, I'm selfish, etc... and I just reply talking about mirror neurons, reciprocal altruism, etc.. well, the other day a ranting Christian on there (he's really crude!) went on a rampage and was leaving all the atheist debaters nasty notes in their rep points (you can leave comments for people when you rep them)... well, he left me one that said:

"I like you".. *SPECIAL!*

I just can't be really that rude to people. Maybe it comes out every once in a while, yet, I try! I really try!

It is just fun, for me. I'm not trying to convert anyone to atheism. Yet, I think the angry atheists merely keep a stereotype going and I'd rather be the soft purring atheist and break the stereotype.

Well, the problem is, as you can probably tell me, that if you aren't very polite, most of these people don't stick around to talk to you. Still, it is fun to hear someone go on a rant when you happen to sympathize with a good deal of what they are saying--sort of like how the Dan groupies feel when he shows up among them to make fun of critics.

Here's the way I see it with debates or ridicule. Ridicule will more than likely not make anyone lose their religion that is deeply invested in it or on the fence. Polite debate will more than likely sway those that are moderate in their positions. Yet, if I'm being moderate and polite when dealing with a fanatic it is usually rather pointless and I finally give up.
